Roadmap
2019
I decided to enrol at the prestigious London Institute School of Fashion (LISOF) now known as STADIO.
The aim was to empower myself with skills such as pattern design, creative design, and garment construction. Believe me, I learned much more than anticipated.
2021
I completed a Bachelor of art in Fashion Design with a very well-rounded knowledge of the fashion industry
2022
Graduated And started working on my new brand or my revamped brand; Mavazi bora design

Mission
Our mission as a brand is to bring a new way in fashion. To experiment with deconstruction fashion within the African context of fashion.To bring excellent sewing techniques to provide a new edge of clothing with glamor and elegance.
About Mavazi Bora
My name is Marie-rose Wa Kahilu, I am a Congolese Fashion Designer residing in South Africa.
My journey as a fashion designer started as early as I was 8 years old.
I found myself making ball gowns for my barbie dolls, making my own school uniforms copying from the ones my parents bought from the school.
I grew up in it so much that designing and sewing become my favourite hobby alongside fabric sourcing, I graduated with my first degree, a Bachelor of Science in Bio-medicine, and worked as a laboratory technician but did not find satisfaction in my daily work since, every time I was free, would find myself visiting fabric stores and sewing equipment stores.
I finally embraced my calling to become a fashion designer. I started by setting up a dressmaking studio in my garage, where I worked daily designing and sewing garments and uniforms for individuals.
Two years down the line I realised that I was not fully equipped and would struggle to draft patterns for certain sophisticated designs. This led me to enrol in a 3 years Bachelor of Arts- Fashion Design course to empower myself. The Prestigious London International School of Fashion (LISOF) now known as STADIO School of Fashion was the best option in my yearning for knowledge. In 2021, I have completed my 3rd year after an intense full-time course.
At STADIO, I have learned, I have gained experience, I have understood, I have developed, and exercised the principles elements of Design, the flat pattern making techniques, the Graphic Design software, and CADs.
I have learned and understood fashion theories, trends analysis and forecasting.
These courses have equipped and empowered me as a professional fashion Designer.
My aesthetic is into luxurious deconstruction fashion womenswear. I design elegant classic garments which have futuristic elements and principles. I emphasise on tailoring, precision, Asymmetry, structured silhouettes.
I take inspiration from designers such as Chanel, Ann Demeulemeester, Issey Miyake and Christian Siriano.
